Hunter Jones

Deputy Chief Jones serves the agency as the second in command of operations as well as a board of directors member. Deputy Chief Jones began his career in public safety in 2012 with the Mount Carmel Fire Department, serving as a Jr. Firefighter and later becoming the Sergeant over the Junior Member program. Deputy Chief Jones has served with multiple additional fire departments within Hawkins County, including Carters Valley Volunteer Fire Department, Goshen Valley Volunteer Fire Department, and Stanley Valley Volunteer Fire Department. Assistant Chief Jones also served in law enforcement, beginning his career with the Mount Carmel Police Department as a reserve patrolman in 2016. Later, he began service with the Hawkins County Sheriff's Office as a Deputy Sheriff serving in the corrections, court/transport, SRO, and patrol divisions. He then returned to the Mount Carmel Police Department and served as a police officer assigned to the Traffic Enforcement Unit within the Patrol Division. He was later promoted to Detective in the Criminal Investigations Division. Deputy Chief Jones is currently serving with the Washington County, Tennessee Sheriff's Office, attached to 2nd Platoon, Patrol Division. Deputy Chief Jones is attached to and assists in commanding the Hawkins County Special Operations Task Force.
